Ok, so, the new domain name is the second biggest news. ChrisGiddings.net has been chosen as my new domain name and I am happy to report that it is now live. You should know this because you are here now, reading this. :P

The biggest news, I have decided to do a profile on my favorite places. Everywhere I go I’ll take photos of parks, restaurants, clubs, bars, and the like and do a brief overview of each of them. Since I have the space here to host such a full site, I figured... “why the hell not, I’ll give it a go”. And so I shall.

The image for this post is one from last June taken with my friend and now ex-coworker, Jason (devil horn hand aka the Rock Music Dragoon, or RMD for short). The Apple Store here in Cincinnati is losing another faithful member Mike Melchers. His shindig is this Friday. Photos to come after the event.

Crystal and I hit the Cincinnati Art Museum tonight. I forgot my camera, or I’d have some shots. Sorry, all. Next time, I swear! I did get a shot of Crystal, but she’s wary of the online scene and has requested net anonymity. Anywho, the Art Museum was fun. WAY more crowded than the last few times I’d been. By, let’s say, 80 percent more people. It’s great to see so many people there. Crystal almost didn’t come with me, but a little less than halfway into the event she started wondering what we’d missed in the museum and seeking out any corner we hadn’t yet discovered and pondered about. Points? I think so. We went back to my place afterward and looked up some art she remembered from her trips to Europe. Interesting stuff. She and I have divergent tastes in art, methinks.

Bess, the friend of my ex Anna was at the event. Fancy running into her there. She was with some guy who clearly was nervous about her introducing me, and seeming to be excited about it. Heh, his handshake was rougher than necessary, and I made a point of talking to Bess about Anna so he wouldn’t think I was honing in on Bess. Some guys are dumb as rocks. Hope those two get along well.

I was noted in the Cincinnati Enquirer on Wednesday. I’d been down at Mulligan’s in Hyde Park Tuesday night to boo at George W Bush’s evildoer speech. They’d taken a quote from me, and a little under thirty photos with me in them, but didn’t seem to use either. A nod to Geoff Curless a coworker of mine at Trivantis Corporation for noting that my image appeared on the Cincinnati.com homepage for a while. Sadly I did not have the forethought that a news website probably would change quickly, and was thus thwarted in obtaining a copy of the image to post here. I have written to the Cincinnati Enquirer requesting a copy of the imagery for the purpose of posting it here and linking back to them with it.

Getting back on track with my budget this month is a priority. During January I spent over 400% of my food budget. That’s BAD for those who don’t get money issues. I overran myself for the month about $30. Not too bad considering, but enough to unbalance me a bit. Luckily Kroger has a bonus going on JUST for me! Loads of carb-infested pasta are $10 for 10 boxes. Friggin’ great! Not to mention the pasta sauces are also on sale.

Now if only I could get to bed on time. I stopped by IHOP on the way back from dropping Crystal off tonight... had some coffee and food. Not too bad $12 including tip. Thinking about it though, if I’d come straight home I’d have gone straight to bed without dinner, but I’d be $12 richer... and to think I could have bought 12 boxes of pasta at Kroger for that much money!!! Here’s to hoping I remain on track this month.
