Darjeeling #22 (Adagio)

Friday is Black Tea, Floral Tea, Fruit Tea, Chai and Pu’erh Review Day!

There comes occasion where one has had enough of the flavored and blended teas. There’s only so much I can take before I need to return to the purity of unaltered teas. Adagio’s Darjeeling #22 is one to reach for in those moments.

This beautiful second flush tea from the Risheehat tea estate in the Darjeeling region of India presents itself with brown and gold leaves tinged at parts with yellow and black. The liquor brews up a seductive redish gold.

Its lightly sweet and slightly earthy aroma provides a clear indication of what this Darjeeling brings to the table.

For a Darjeeling, this tea is very lightly astringent. Its lightly bold flavor has a hardness reminiscent of a peachy pucker. It’s tail draws out for a rather long time begging you to embrace its smooth warm flavor just that one more time.

Adagio did a great job selecting this tea and I would recommend this delicious Darjeeling Indian black tea to any Darjeeling fan or someone who is a Himalayan, Nepalese or Bangladeshi black tea enthusiast.
