This mixture of black and golden-brown leaves appears rolled and curled with a few stems and brews to an attractive reddish caramel with some copper tones.

The aroma comes of slightly spicy, reminiscent of mossy or earthy qualities. This isn’t bad and in-fact was very pleasing for me.

Flavor-wise this tea is earthy and smoky with some roasted qualities. It holds a light tail with notes of a natural vegetal sweetness. There is some astringency in this brew and isn’t as smooth as many other oolongs.

I would recommend this brew to fans of Oolongs and lighter black teas. Those who aren’t fans of earthy or smoky teas shouldn’t dive in as quickly unless they’re willing to expand their horizons.
