Six Summits Oolong (Teavana)

This Oolong from Teavana is tightly rolled. A pretty combination of very dark and very light green leaves. Teavana’s product photos show raspberries, but this tisane seems scented more with mango and passionfruit than the tart I expect from a raspberry.

The liquor brews to a light caramel yellow and produces a very light but alluring aroma which is more floral than fruity. The scents remind me of lilac and gardenia.

Once this tea is on your palate, you realize it’s very creamy and provides a smooth drinking experience, but does feel a bit heavy in the mouth.

There’s not much astringency to the brew. The finish has only the faintest hints of vegetal pucker and the light flavor drags on for a while after you sip.

This is probably one of my favorite teas from Teavana. It’s creamy smooth and on top of the delicious taste and enticing aroma! But even as a relative favorite, at roughly $9 an ounce, this tea is a bit expensive.

I like this tea so much; I do recommend giving it a try. However, the purists out there won’t like the scenting and the more frugal won’t like the price. This tea is wonderfully refreshing when iced.
