I have many tea books in my backlog, which I'll work through in the coming year. First up, though, is this cute book of tea-related quotes and photos.
The book, published in 2018 by Exisle Publishing, is quite simple. No specific author is credited, and my copy is hard-bound.
Each two-page spread is a pair. One page is a tea-related quote, and the other is a tea-related photo. Nothing so profound and life-changing as a self-improvement book or as entertaining as grand fiction. It's just a nice, simple coffee table read. And it's perfect for that.
Here, I've selected some of my favorite quotes in the book.
I was always brought up to have a cup of tea at halfway up a rock face.
Remember the tea kettle – it is always up to its neck in hot water, yet it still sings!
The perfect temperature for tea is two degrees hotter than just right.
James Norwood Pratt
Tea is quiet and our thirst for tea is never far from our craving for beauty.
Drinking a daily cup of tea will surely starve the apothecary.
There is no need to have any special attitude while drinking except one of thankfulness. The nature of tea itself is that of no-mind.
Tea is drunk to forget the din of the world.
She had that brand of pragmatism that would find her the first brewing tea after Armageddon.
I hope you enjoyed these quotes. The book was a nice, light way to flip pages while I enjoyed a warm cuppa. Perhaps this would make a great gift for someone on your holiday list.
There are dozens more quotes in Happiness is a Red Teapot. You can find copies from major retailers, including Amazon, where it's just $11 at the time of writing.
