OMFG, George Takei

Okay so I was talking to my friend Maggie today (not currently mentioned on the Cast page, look for her in the future). I met Maggie at Tekkoshocon in 2005 where I also met Amy.

Anyway, so we get to talking and I make provided a link to this video to her.

This wasn't my issue though. What WAS my issue was that she didn't seem to get who was in the video. At all. I even tried to explain that George Takei was Mr. Sulu. She was like "Who's Mr. Sulu?" I about feinted and died. I really couldn't believe it. She didn't know James T Kirk... she barely knew of Spock... How does one make it through grade school without hearing of these characters in some respect. They're as much part of American folklore now as Sherlock Holmes was thirty or forty years after his introduction. It's almost sacrilegious! I just don't get it.

I'll be adding some images of our chat I took to this post on Wednesday night. My head hurts.
